Background:
I started playing drums in 1999 when I was 16. Moved to JHB from East
London and started studying drumming at the National School of the Arts
with the legendary Larry Rose. I played for SA metal giants Pestroy during
2000, then studied at Groove Regulators for a year. Colin Heaney, a fellow
drummer who was originally booked to record the new Jo Day album "Princess",
recommended me to Jo when he found he couldn't make it. I called her,
but wasn't too sure I'd made much of an impression, so I called back again
and she agreed to let me audition. Apparently a few bars into my audition,
she and Jon decided I'd got the gig... yeah!
